The bathroom – oh the bathroom. Such an unfortunate layout! I was hoping we could move the toilet to be side by side with the sink so you have room to stand in there, it’s a little bit tight. Just like the rest of the apartment. The very first thing I did was flip the door so it swung out, not in. I would have to wedge myself between the toilet and counter to close the door!

The bathroom renovation was such a transformation! With such a tiny place, storage is the goal! I am not a minimalist in any way so any place we could add storage I tried to make that a priority.
Tiny budget! We had a small budget for the whole renovation and we were really able to cut costs in the bathroom and you would never know – she is gorgeous!
I could have swore that I took way more photos of all of this, from the building of the vanity to the mirror transformation and the shower curtain but I cannot find them! So sorry for the lack of photos.
The Vision:

The Floor
These large slate tiles were a total score, they were left behind at my husband’s work and we had enough to do both the bathroom and the laundry room. I know some people don’t like dark floors but I love em!

The Vanity
In order to save some money Alex built the vanity. We ordered a sink from Amazon and I showed Alex what I had in mind and he built it!
Anthroplogie Shower Curtain
I fell in love with this gorgeous shower curtain from Anthropologie but for $118, no thank you! I looked all over for something similar but could not find anything! So I decided to make one myself.
I took a blue full sheet from walmart, I found some clearance fringe and shibori dyed it to match. I found some gromets at Kiwanas and I had my mom help me sew it all together! It turned out so good!

Bathroom Mirror
I also had a particular bathroom mirror in mind and I waited and looked constantly at Facebook Marketplace and scored this giant gorgeous one that matched what was in my head perfectly!
Now it’s cute & functional!
