Everyone loves a good cinderella story. Get ready to jump in and follow along as we get to help out with another project, this time a little house! We wish we were working on our own home but we are excited and slightly afraid to help transform this little place. It’s a total gut job!
It was a home turned into a office and now it will be turned into a rental home. The bathroom is especially lovely, complete with a phone to talk on while on the pot! How creative! The drop ceilings, short door ways, and wall paneling really speak to my soul – not.

This little one story place has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a kitchen, pantry, dining room, and a laundry/mudroom. Plus we will even have a small yard!
A few things we are looking forward to…
- Doubling our space
- Windows that open
- A bigger kitchen
- A dishwasher
- Not having the only bathroom be in our bedroom
- A little outside area
So what now…
While it lacks a sort of homey feeling I love all the walls. Yes, you read that correctly. I love walls and I am not afraid to say it! Ha! I like individual rooms and defined spaces. Amy always jokes how she doesn’t want to see her messy hard working kitchen while enjoying a delicious meal and I agree! I want cozy defined spaces, no open floor plans for me!
This is a total gut job. Remember this isn’t our own home, it’s a rental we are helping renovate. So we can’t move a bunch of walls and get all crazy. There will be some limitations on what we can do. We will be closing up some extra door ways. The bathroom wall between the bathroom and living room will get torn down, moved a few inches and reframed to fit a bathtub/shower. Then it’s flooring, trim, paint, cabinets, lighting and more! You know, just a few things!
